Text to Speech in Visual Basic 2005
This article describes an application used to exercise some of the Text To Speech features available to .NET developers through the Microsoft Speech 5.1 SDK. This article does not address the newer speech server related libraries nor does it address web based deployments of speech related technologies.

I used the above code in my program and came up with 2 bugs. The line with "SayGreeting(str)" get an error: "Name 'SayGreeting' is not declared." Also, when changing the voice setting using the combobox, there is no change. Whether I change before or during read back, no change is made. It uses the default set in the Speech Control Panel.

im kinda confused i use this code to read whats in my textbox but cant get it to stop reading Dim SAPI SAPI = CreateObject("sapi.spvoice") SAPI.Speak(TextBox1.Text) this reads what is in the text box i want to have a stop button to stop the reading can you help
