Sharepoint list and data types

Objectives:

Exercise: There are two sites and Publishing site Team site

Exercise 01: Create a SharePoint List

Top-Level Open default SharePoint site
Click on the link below:
- "View All Site Content" or Type List | Create Link
- Site Actions | Create Link
On the Communication category
- Select the link "Contact"
- Enter the name is MyContacts List
- Enter Description Contacts is My Friend
- Check on the option Yes in the "Display on Quick Launch"
Click "Create" button

Exercise 02: Configuring a SharePoint List

To see MyContacts List
- Click on "View All Site Content" in the left menu
- Or Click on the Quick Launch
Click MyContacts:
- Settings | Settings List
- General Settings | Title, Description and navigation
  - In the Name box
    - MyContacts changes to "My Contacts"
  - In the Description box
    - Contacts to Change My Friend "Friend Contacts"
    - Check the no option for "Display on Quick Launch"
- Click Save

Exercise 03: Repeat 3 times creating new elements

To see MyContacts List
- Click on "View All Site Content" in the left menu
- Or Click on the Quick Launch
Click on List MyContacts:
- Click New Link | New Item
- Enter information for LastName, FirstName, Company...
- Click OK

Exercise 04: Change element in SharePoint List

Click on List MyContacts:
Click on the Last Name item | Edit Item
- Change information:
  - LastName, FirstName, Company, Business Phone, Web page
- Click OK

Exercise 05: Enter the item in Sharepoint List for other accounts

You must have an account of the operating system
- Add Account (quochung) website
  - Click on the link "People and Groups"
  - Click on the link "Site Members"
  - Click New | Add User
  - Enter your account name (quochung)
  - Select option | check the Full Control
- Add Account (quochung) website
  - Log off the administrator account
Log in with user name and password just added to website (quochung)
Reopen the web browser and access to your website
Select List "My Contacts"
Click on the "Last Name" | select Edit Item
Change information: Last Name, First Name
Click OK
Select List "My Contacts"
- Views | Modify this view
- Check the columns Created, Created By, Modified, Modified By
Select List "My Contacts" will see
- Information is changed

Exercise 06: Save a SharePoint List Template

Choose any that Sharepoint List | Settings
List Settings | Permissions and management
- Click on the link "Save list as template"
  - Enter the name template: MyTemplate
  - Enter the decription: This Is My Template
  - Check the option "Include Content"
Click Ok
To see the newly saved template with two ways:
- Go to link "list template galary"
- Click Home | Site Action | Modify All Site Settings | List Templates
- You can download this template on your computer and upload to a different SharePoint site

Exercise 07: Understanding Tracking List

Click on the link below:
- "View All Site Content" or Type List | Create Link
- Site Actions | Create Link
On the Communication category
- Select the link "MyTemplate"
- Enter the name is MyTemplateList List
- Enter a Description Template My List
- Check on the option Yes in the "Display on Quick Launch"
Click "Create" button

Exercise 08: Working with Custom List

Click on the link below:
- "View All Site Content" or Type List | Create Link
- Site Actions | Create Link
On the Communication category
- Select the link "Custom List"
- Enter the name of the Employees List
- Enter the Employees List Description
- Check on the option Yes in the "Display on Quick Launch"
Click "Create" button

Exercise 09: Change the title of the column

Select Employees List
Settings | Settings List
On Columns
- Click on Title
- Change the Job Title Titlte
- Maximum number of characters is 50
- Click OK
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: FirstName
- Check Yes to 'Require that this columns contains infomation'
- Single line of text | Maximum number is 30
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: LastName
- Check Yes to 'Require that this columns contains infomation'
- Single line of text | Maximum number is 30
Click OK

Exercise 10: Continuing with the Employees List

Settings | List Settings |
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: DateOfBirth
- Date and Time | Date Only
- Click OK
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: Gender
- Choice option | select RadioButtons (Male and Female)
- Click OK
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: MaritalStatus
- Choice option | select DropDownList (Single, Married, Other)
- Click OK
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: OrderInFamily
- Number option | Min (1), Max (20), Decimal Places (0)
- Click OK

Exercise 11: Back to the Top-Level Site

Click on one of the following links:
- "View All Site Content" or Type List | Create Link
- Site Actions | Create Link
On the Communication category
- Select the link "MyTemplate"
  - Enter the name is RelationWebSites List
  - Enter a Description of Sites Vietnam
  - Check on the option Yes in the "Display on Quick Launch"
- Click "Create" button
Enter a few items on the List RelationWebSites

Exercise 12: Create a new List

Exercise 13: Continue with the Employees List

Settings | List Settings |
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: Photo
- Hyperlink or Picture | Picture
Click on Create Column
- Column Name: Website
- Hyperlink or Picture | Hyperlink

Exercise 14: Continue with the Employees List

Select Employees List
New Link | Add Item
- Enter Employee's information
- Photo column
- Enter the URL to the images on the internet is: (your choice)
New Link | Add Item
- Enter Employee's information
- Photo column
- Enter the URL is: / Photos / yourimage.gif
Click OK
