Ambious column name error

Question

i need to get the rows from a table based on arrrival time in ascending order    Select Pkey_Sno,ArrivingTime,DepartureTime  from  Tb.flights where ArrivingTime between '13' and '14' order by ArrivingTime     getting error Ambiguous column name 'ArrivingTime'.    Any suggestions will be helpful

There is not any error in the query you have posted here. It may be when you join with other table and that table also has same column name. Below query works fine. create   table  flights (Pkey_Sno  int , ArrivingTime  int , DepartureTime  int )      Select         Pkey_Sno, ArrivingTime, DepartureTime   from  flights  where  ArrivingTime    between   '13'   and   '14'   order   by  ArrivingTime
The below query will not work as some of the column is available in both table with similar name.   To avoid this type of error you need to just type the tablename.column name as I have used while in join. create   table  flights (Pkey_Sno  int , ArrivingTime  int , DepartureTime  int )   create   table  flights1 (Pkey_Sno  int , ArrivingTime  int , DepartureTime  int )      Select         Pkey_Sno, ArrivingTime, DepartureTime   from  flights    inner   join  flights1  on  flights.Pkey_Sno = flights1.Pkey_Sno   where  ArrivingTime   between   '13'   and   '14'   order   by  ArrivingTime

Hi,    I think you are using two tables in your query and both table  ArrivingTime column is exists.  So due to this reason this error is occuring.   Solution:   You must have set alias of tables and use its alias it's corresponding. Which table you want to use  ArrivingTime column use it with table alias name like (tbl.ArrivingTime)        It will help you.
