The Assembly in .net allows to version the same assembly with multiples.
The public encrypted key allows to make the version of assembly and strong name key has to applied to make the assembly versioning. The sn.exe is tool to generate the strong name key.
sn.exe -k "myassembly.snk"
The same assembly name can be deployed in GAC(Global Assembly Cache) with multiple versions. This has to be deployed using gacutil.exe tool.
gacutil -i "path of the assembly"
