Why class is called reference type.

It's called a reference type because variables of the class's type contain a reference (i.e. pointer) to where an instance of the class is stored on the heap - they don't contain the instance itself.

In contrast, variables of value types (structs, enums) do contain an instance of the value type, not a reference to it.
