Could not load file or assembly 'EntityFramework, Version=6.

Question

Hi forum members,   While opening up a file, I encountered the following error :   An exception of type 'System.IO.FileLoadException' occurred in LogicUni.dll but was not handled in user code
Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'EntityFramework, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)   And I can't run the file at all.   Can someone advise me how to rectify the above so that I can view the files. Tks.

Update the Entity Framework version with 6.1.3 from NuGet Packege Manager

This can happen if your project name conflicts with a nuget package you referenced. I wasted about 3 hrs before I realized what is going on.

First check your EntityFramework version in project. Go to references -> expand it -> select
EntityFramework -> right click and select properties -> See version

You will find mostly different version than 6.0.0.0

If it is diffrernt than 6.0 then you need to update EF version.

Go to your Project solution - > 'Manage NuGet packet for Solution', click 'Manage' on 'Entity Framework'

Lastly check in your app.config/web.config to see what version you are using for EntityFramework.
