Debug.Write and Trace.Write

Hi..
Ques : What is the difference between Debug.Write and Trace.Write? When should each be used? What is the difference between a Debug and Release build? Is there a significant speed difference ?

Debug mode does not optimize the intermediate language (IL) produced by the compiler and produces additional data for debugging purposes.
In contrast, release mode does optimize the IL and doesn't produce data for debugging purposes (unless the Trace class is used).
Consequently, a release build should be somewhat faster than a debug build.
