Hi, There is no Difference Between Software and Application. We Develop Software's for some Applications. And we can found several applications in one Software.
For example: MS OFFICE is a Software, Which comes with several applications like WORD, EXCEL SHEET, POWERPOINT PRESENTATION etc.

Both are same. An application is also a software. Sometimes a software means multiple applications but the life cycle is same.
