Disabling LinkButton in Jquery
How to disable the link Button using Jquery in Chrome $('a[id*="link1"]').attr("disabled", "disabled"); is working fine with InternetExplorer but not working with Mozilla and Chrome

You can do this by using below code
$('a[id*="link1"]').removeAttr("href");
$('a[id*="link1"]').css({ 'text-decoration': 'underline', color: '#999999', cursor: 'pointer' });

Enable/Disable a linkbutton with the of Jquery/Javascript is not supportd in FF and Safari.
so you have to put your own idea to disable it means click is not working.
you can change value of href and/or onclick runtime you want to disable link.
