Extra rows when exporting datagridview as csv

Question

Hi!
I have a program that can export datagridview to csv.
All works well and all but one problem has occured.
The created csv file has two extra rows that are empty and they are causing me some trouble.
How can I get rid of them when exporting. Trimming them of in notepad is not really an option.
My code for the export looks like this:
private   void  btnExport_Click( object  sender, EventArgs e)   {   // Don't save if no data is returned    if  (dataGridView1.Rows.Count == 0)   {   return ;   }   StringBuilder sb =  new  StringBuilder();   sb.AppendLine( string .Join( "," , dataGridView1.Columns.Cast().Select(x => $ "\"{x.Name}\"" )));   foreach  (DataGridViewRow row  in  dataGridView1.Rows)   {   if  (!row.IsNewRow)   {   sb.AppendLine( string .Join( "," , row.Cells.Cast().Select(c => $ "\"{c.Value ?? " "}\"" )));   }   }   // Load up the save file dialog with the default option as saving as a .csv file.    SaveFileDialog sfd =  new  SaveFileDialog();   sfd.Filter =  "CSV files (*.csv)|*.csv" ;   if  (sfd.ShowDialog() == System.Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK)   {   // If they've selected a save location...    using  (System.IO.StreamWriter sw =  new  System.IO.StreamWriter(sfd.FileName,  false ))   {   // Write the stringbuilder text to the the file.    sw.WriteLine(sb.ToString());   }   }
All help is appreciated, Thanks.

Hi Can you share the output of csv? Becase, it may be your header & footer row of  datagridview. So, you have to substract from the rows count.

Mario Scheeren · Answer

Well this should not have been too hard ...   if  (!row.IsNewRow)   {       var tmp =  string .Join( "," , row.Cells.Cast ().Select(c => $ "\"{c.Value ?? " "}\"" );        if  (! string .IsNullOrWhiteSpace(tmp))       {           sb.AppendLine(tmp);       }   }
Sorry mate ... but you could have tried by yourself first ... letting others do your work without even understanding what they are providing in their code  is not very smart.

Mario that code did not work or I did something wrong. I'm fearly new to coding and dont know all the things but I try to learn.

So the csv looks like this when I import it to the application:   "Nro","Tyyppi","Yks","Ktp","Kustpk","Alue","Laatu","Koodi","Selite","Lisatietoja" "101","TUULIK","2.10","A52","2","123","3/0","","","" "102","ETEINEN","3.00","A51","2","123","3/3","","","" "103","WC","0.90","A52","2","123","3/3","","","" "104","KERHOHUO","34.60","A52","2","123","3/3","","","" "105","OLOHUONE","19.30","A12","2","123","3/3","","",""   And when I have modified it and export it to my computer it looks like this:   "Nro","Tyyppi","Yks","Ktp","Kustpk","Alue","Laatu","Koodi","Selite","Lisatietoja" "101","TUULIK","2.10","A52","2","123","3/0","8","asdasd","asdasd" "102","ETEINEN","3.00","A51","2","123","3/3","1","ddd","ssss" "103","WC","0.90","A52","2","123","3/3","10","qweqwe","dsaads" "104","KERHOHUO","34.60","A52","2","123","3/3","4","asd","dfddfg" "105","OLOHUONE","19.30","A12","2","123","3/3","9","ewq","dsadsa"   Here is two extra rows that I want to get rid of.
