then your hidden field is outside of CreateEdit form, place it inside the partial view so that when you click on add or update the hidden field goes with the other form parameters as   @ using  (Html.BeginForm( "CreateEdit" ,  "Location" , FormMethod.Post))   {       @Html.AntiForgeryToken()      "hidden"  name= "Action"  id= "hfAU"  value= "" />   .... other codes   }    the fill the hiiden field after the partial view gets loaded   $( 'body' ).on( 'click' ,  '[id*=btnAdd]' , function () {      $.get( "/Location/CreateEdit?Id="  + Id, function (data) {      $( "#divData" ).html(data);   $( "#hfAU" ).val( "A" );   $( "#UpSertModal" ).modal( 'show' );   });   });

Make sure the name of your hidden field and the parameter name in action method are the same.
