login age catch id through session

Question

Hai all i wrote this lines for catching id in registration page    then i m getting this eror     int i = v.InsertUserRegistration(user.Name, user.Gender, user.Education, user.MobileNumber, user.EmailId, user.IsActive); //storing data in session for nexpage if (i != 0) { name = Session["Name"].ToString();--- object referene not set to instance of object userid = (int)Session["Id"]; Email = Session["EmailId"].ToString(); } TempData["notice"] = "Successfully registered"; return RedirectToAction("CreatePassword"); } i need to pass the id to anothe page ... any help   TIA

I believe you are using MVC.

Don't use Session in MVC, instead use the TempData["UserID"]

once you fetch data fromTempData value, say

var userId = TempData["UserID"];

TempData.Keep("UserID");

Use the "Keep"so that value will be available even after read, add the Keep line of code after each read operations.

Hi , after successfully registration retriev int i = v.InsertUserRegistration(user.Name, user.Gender, user.Education, user.MobileNumber, user.EmailId, user.IsActive); //storing data in session for nexpage if (i != 0) { here you have to retrive registered user details from data base and set into session Session["userid "]= "123", Session["Name"]= "xyz", Session["EmailId"]="abc@gmail.com" } TempData["notice"] = "Successfully registered"; return RedirectToAction("CreatePassword"); }

Thanku Sir,but my real problem is i have to catch Id ,i m getting both name and email but if u observe my code i m not taking any thing that refers to id ....how can i catch id ..is there any possiblity ??sry sir if i ask anything wrong i m a fresher TIA
