Need code for export to excel -- Confused!!!

I am looking for some good sample code or API to use in my C# application to export data to xlsx format.

Using something like http://closedxml.codeplex.com/ makes it a breeze. There used to be ways I could just save out a data list to a file w/ the xls extension via a report viewer, but those days are over...still happy we've moved on and there are so many interested parties that make libraries like the one I linked to possible.
