onblur function gives infinite alert message

Question

Attached is the simple html file comprising two textboxes having similar onblur function mentioned in head section of page.   Scenario 1 :   If I tab out from first textbox it gives me alert message for infinite times and page gets stuck. This scenario happens only when I have multiple textbox on page.   Scenario 2: If I remove one textbox and comment out another one then scenario 1 is not produced.   Question: Why in scenario 1 page gets stuck because of infinite alert messages?   HTML Code for more convenience (if anybody is reluctant to extract the zip file):   function testmethod() { alert ("hi"); return false; }

I agree with your point relevant with cursor moving to second textbox after we close alert message box occured due to tab out of first textbox.   But then why onblur of second textbox is executed although we have not done tab out from it ?

Here the issue is, you have two textbox's and both implemented with onBlur event. Now, as page having 2 controls. curosor will be either in textbox1 or 2. So when u click on tab when cursor in textbox1 then an alert box will be open before cursor will go to textbox2. Now, once u close alert box, again cursor goes to alter then again on textbox1 then again onBlur event occur on textbox2. Like this it keep on repeating.
