Vinod,   First you have to query sql and get the initial amount and store it in a variable  like :   string initialVal; using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString)) using (SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand("select * from Requests where Admission_ID = "+ labstuid.Text , connection)) { connection.Open(); using (SqlDataReader reader = command.ExecuteReader()) { while (reader.Read()) { initialVal= reader [ "Amount" ]. ToString () } } }   Now you have to add to this initialVal and update back ; initialVal=initialVal+1000; upQuery = "UPDATE FeeDeposit SET Amount ='" + initialVal + "'WHERE Admission_ID=" + labstuid.Text; SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(upQuery, con); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); con.Close();     Change the variables as per you requirement .   Thanks, Priyan     If you found this useful Please mark this as Answer
