you already know, how to upload the image to a folder and I guess you just want the compression, for compressing the image you could use this code, this is the easiest. WebImage img =  new  WebImage(Your.InputStream);   if  (img.Width > 1000)       img.Resize(1000, 1000);    your code should go like this  step 1.add reference of S ystem.Web.Helpers namespace (Right click reference then add this ) string sPath =  "" ;   sPath = HostingEnvironment.MapPath( "~/Images/" );   WebApiDatabaseEntities entities =  new  WebApiDatabaseEntities();   System.Web.HttpFileCollection hfc = System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.Files;              // CHECK THE FILE COUNT.    for  ( int  iCnt = 0; iCnt  {       System.Web.HttpPostedFile hpf = hfc[iCnt];                         if  (hpf.ContentLength > 0)       {           WebImage img =  new  WebImage(hpf.InputStream);                     img.Resize(500, 500); // specify the height width you want          // SAVE THE FILES IN THE FOLDER.         var fileName = Path.GetFileName(hpf.FileName);         var random = Guid.NewGuid() + fileName;         hpf.SaveAs(sPath + Path.GetFileName(random));         iUploadedCnt = iUploadedCnt + 1;
