Angular is by far the most popular single-page application (SPA) framework used by .NET developers. Until this project, I hadn’t used Angular since before it dropped the JS from its name. Consequentially, I was excited to try my hat at it again, this time using it to show off MirrorFly Video API. You can follow along in this tutorial, where we’ll be creating a basic video chat application using Angular

 

Prerequisites

• Visual Studio (I’m using 2019, though older versions ought to work)
• .NET Core 3.1 developer kit
• A MirrorFly Video API account
• A MirrorFly Video API project, which can be created from your account page 

Let’s start by opening Visual Studio. Click Create a new project -> ASP.NET Core Web Application -> give it a name (I’m calling mine BasicVideoChatAngular) -> Create -> Angular.

Doing this is going to build you a shell ASP.NET application with all of your client-side code under the ClientApp folder.

 

Alternatively, you can try using a programming toolkit (Like LEADTOOLS) that is based on DirectShow, and provides higher-level functions that can make it easier for you dealing with capture devices and video streaming.

You can try LEADTOOLS Multimedia toolkit to capture data from standard DirectShow and Media foundation devices, stream the captured data over one of the commonly used protocols (UDP, RTP, RTSP, TCP and others), and then playback the streamed data on the client side using the Player control.
